We thank all participants for joining the ninth Inter-Institutional Scientific Webinar, which demonstrated how a single analytical platform, NMR-based metabolomics, can support clinical research, drug discovery, and food characterization.

Dr. Alessia Vignoli showed that serum metabolic profiles discriminated fast from slow Alzheimer's disease progressors with an accuracy of 73%, a prognostic capability not provided by cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers.

Dr. Veronica Ghini reported that glutathione metabolism was the most strongly perturbed pathway in ovarian cancer cells treated with oxaliplatin, and that fluorinated ferritin nanocarriers reproduced the metabolic alterations induced by the free drug, supporting their potential as delivery vehicles.

Dr. Gaia Meoni demonstrated that integrating NMR, HPLC-MS, and ICP-MS data enabled classification of coffee samples by farm of origin with 100% accuracy.

We also thank Prof. Paola Turano for the opening remarks and all attendees for their active participation in the discussion. If your research question could benefit from NMR-based metabolomics, we welcome inquiries regarding potential collaboration.

This webinar was supported by the MR LATVIA project, in collaboration with CRMN Lyon (Lyon), the CERM/CIRMMP Infrastructure (Florence), and the National Institute of Research and Innovation (Riga). Funded by HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-02.
